A guide on how to save by choosing the correct tyre for your vehicle
A very important factor to consider when choosing a tyre is
fuel efficiency, tyres are rated from 'A' to 'G' with 'A' being the most fuel efficent and 'G' be the least fuel efficent, meaning if you choose an 'A' graded tyre the more money you will save
on fuel. A lot of research and development has gone in to producing these fuel efficent tyres / energy savers by the leading / premium tyre manufacturers without sacrificing on performance or tyre
wear.
About 20% of a car's fuel consumption is linked to tyre
rolling resistance ( the energy lost from the friction of the tyre on the road ). So the more rolling resistance a tyre has the more fuel will be consumed to push the vehicle forward, this is why the
tyres are now rated. So by choosing a high rating ( eg 'A' ) you will use less fuel and save on £££££.
Another big factor to considering when buying new tyres
is having your Four wheel
alignment
checked and adjusted if required by us at Colchester
Accident Repairs. If your wheel alignment is out this will affect your tyre wear and your tyres will not last as long costing you £££££, it will also lower your fuel consuption again costing you £££££.
